I have been reading some really great books so far this year! Each one brings a different spice and energy for every type of reader.
1. Love in Color by Bolu Babalola is a book of beautifully written short stories based on folktales and myths from around the world. Tales of love and triumph that are magical, thoughtful, and ethereal. I definitely recommend you all pick this up and enjoy the warm and fuzzies. Ethereal Score: 14/15
2. Wahala by Nikki May is chapters and chapters of the title, pure chaos. This is a thriller, page turner, and midway through you may want to slap the main characters. I found myself laughing, cringing, and anxious at the same time. Pick this up to enjoy Nigerian-British banter and a very well written story. Ethereal Score: 12/15
3. All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks is considered to be one of the most highly regarded texts on love. Beginning from early childhood and on we internalize and as a result practice contradictory ideas of love. As adults we work to unmask the veil of what we believed to be truth about it. I am more than happy to do an in-depth review of it under Spiritual Reviews later in the month.
